Welcome to Regenerative Foodies

I regularly hear people say they want to eat better, but that it’s hard to do. One of my dad’s favorite sayings was: “Everything’s easy when you know how.” Eating well is pretty straightforward. We live in a culture where sometimes people and companies overcomplicate things to make us believe what they promote or sell is the best or only solution. Food is one of those things.

The reality is that you can eat well by preparing food for yourself and your family. You can have amazing skin, mental clarity, an optimal weight, and feel proud of the way you eat, without paying a gazillion dollars to make it happen. I say this with confidence because I’ve launched several plant-based skincare brands that use food ingredients and have been studying nutrition, skincare, ethnobotany, and biochemistry for the past 20+ years. Food is medicine. Let’s make it easy.

I want to demystify healthy food for everyone who thinks it is boring, bland, or complicated to eat the best food for your body and planet. So I’m starting this thing… Regenerative Foodies™ My goal is to help people to eat well through education, fun, and community. For anyone who wants to participate with me, I hope we can share recipe ideas – both successes and failures, and enjoy the process of sourcing, preparing, and eating beautiful food together.

Each week I’ll select a small suite of seasonal fruits and vegetables to be the stars of the week, and offer you a variety of kitchen-tested food ideas and also some fully-baked recipes to turn those core ingredients into all kinds of meals. From hot to cold and sweet to savory, the same core ingredients will be transformed into delightful and easy-to-make dishes using spices, herbs, and pantry staples that create a diverse range of flavors. Meat ideas are included as add-ons like bacon sprinkled over the top of a veggie breakfast hash or diced chicken mixed into tzatziki as a salad topper.

I curate the ingredients in every shopping list to ensure they contain a wide range of skin-enhancing benefits, as well as support a healthy microbiome, weight loss or maintenance, mental clarity and energy, disease prevention, longevity, and vitality. For optimal health, you need to eat at least 30 different plants, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and legumes weekly. That might sound like a lot, but by shopping and cooking with me, you’ll find it is easy to do.

By consuming this plant-rich, seasonal, nutrient-dense diet, you’ll:
